Restore Management Courses In FUNAAB, Management Tells Buhari • Produces 113 First Class Graduates

Restore Management Courses In  FUNAAB, Management Tells Buhari

• Produces 113 First Class Graduates

 Osho Raymond

Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) yesterday  graduated 3,548 with calls on the influential people at the ceremony and President Muhammadu Buhari to restore Management Sciences that were delisted in Universities three years ago.

The University's Chancellor who doubles as Obong of Calabar, His Eminence, Edidem Ekpo Okon and the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Governing Council, Dr. Aboki Zhawa made the call as the Institution conferred Honorary Degree of Doctor of Letters on Nobel Laureate, Pro. Wole Soyinka and distinguished Historian, Prof. Toyin Falola  at the Convocation Ceremony of Award of Postgraduate and Honorary Degrees held at the Institution.

Giving the statistics of  graduands, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kolawole Salako disclosed that a total of 113 graduated with First Class Honours Degrees, 1,327 in the Second Class Upper Division and 1,533 in the Second Class Lower Division.

The Convocation Ceremony was the first to be  hosted by the Vice-Chancellor since he assumed office in November 1, 2017.

Salako  described the graduands as the best and their degrees well deserved.

Graduands, parents, guardians, dignitaries and well wishers from all works of life converged at the sprawling Ceremonial Building of the University where academic degrees were awarded to the graduands.

The VC charged the graduands to uphold the University’s Core Value of academic and moral excellence in their endeavours, assuring them that “these will distinguish you among your peers and make you very good ambassadors of the University”.

Explaining the rationale behind the Honorary Degree conferred on Soyinka and Falola, Slako maintained “There is a nexus between Science and Humanities”.

His words “we are emphasizing this as we confer the Honorary Degree on the men who made their marks in Humanities.  Even at this convocation ceremony, Prof. Toyin Falola, who doubled as our Convocation Lecture demonstrated this in the lecture titled, “Food and Us: Poverty, Policies and Politics”.

Concerning Soyinka, the Vice-Chancellor pointed out that “we feel honoured to project “Ake, the Years of Childhood” to “Ake the year of Honorary Degree Award”.

“The former, a book was published in 1981 and 1988 by Wole Soyinka.  Here we are with the latter, an event, in 2018”, he added.

Earlier in his Address, the Chancellor called on the Visitord to the University to magnanimously restore the courses in the College of Management Sciences that were delisted three years ago.

He recalled “The establishment of the College was borne out of the call for diversification of academic programmes in specialized Universities with the assurance to retain Agriculture as the flagship in Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta”.

The Chancellor pointed out that “The purpose of this pronouncement on diversification was to allow greater access to higher education by an ever-increasing pool of eligible candidates who are unable to access higher education due to insufficiency in numbers to care for their admission capacities”.

He appeald to Buhari, saying “It is important that the College, which has enjoyed full accreditation status, should be allowed to continue its contributions in the academic towards a meaningful national development”.

In the same vein, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Governing Council, Dr. Barr. Aboki Zhawa decried  the declination of the Management Sciences and also appealed to the President for their restoration with alacrity.

He lamented that for two consecutive academic sessions, Management Sciences have been delisted from JAMB Brochure and thereby dashing the hopes and yearnings of thousands of Nigerians youths.

The Pro-Chancellor pointed out that the Institution's Governing Council believes that whoever opens the gate of a school closes the door of prison while a nation that toys with education of its citizens is only preparing its posterity for penury”.

“I beseech Mr. President to prevail on the agencies and individuals that may be thwarting the efforts of restoring this all-important College to put the future of the teeming youths above all other considerations, he added”.

Sunday Adelaja : The Devil’s Master Or The Fallen ‘Angel’ looking for saints to drag in the mud

Sunday Adelaja : The Devil’s Master Or The Fallen ‘Angel’ looking for saints to drag in the mud

Since when did Pastor Sunday Adelaja becomes the devils advocate?

Arguably one of the Nigerian pastors who was doing greatly in Europe is Sunday Adelaja, the founder of Embassy of the Blessed Kingdom of God for All Nations. He had one of the largest churches in the world and one of the highest number of members any pastor could think of.

Anything that has to do with a successful ministry was associated with him, he was the man everyone wanted to be like. Infact, he got to a point in ministry where he was involved in decision making in Ukraine and became a reference point for popular preachers in Nigeria.

He had a lot of followers online too, his live videos, podcasts, youtube videos were the talk of the town due to the kind of teachings he taught, they were glorifying and edifying to the spirit but in one way or the other, he singlehandedly invited the devil into his life and fell drastically from grace to grass and from the leader of one of the largest churches to a clergy without pulpit and thus because one of  to the devils advocate attacking the real men of God.

His attacks on men of God however isn’t something shocking. For someone who has been drenched in several kind of sins ranging from fraud to deception, immorality, adultery and so on, he wouldn’t want to go down the drain alone but would want to drag other men of God with him and unknown to him, he is putting more coal to the fire of punishment that is being prepared for him.

All this didn’t just happened suddenly.  As the saying goes, ‘Pride goeth before destruction’.  One of the things that killed the ministry of Pastor Sunday Adeleja was pride. He had almost everything a Pastor should have but not humility. He was a hot cake then and placed himself so high against what the bible preaches. He began to attack Nigerian pastors and their teachings. He began to point out the wrongs in their teachings, he turned himself to a judge whereas, even the bible asks us not to Judge so we won’t be judged. He refused to take off the dirt in his own eyes first but busy advocating for the devil.  His case is like kettle calling the pot black. He    didn’t think about all these, all because of pride and according to the bible
Isaiah 14:12-15

"How you have fallen from heaven, O star of the morning, son of the dawn! You have been cut down to the earth, You who have weakened the nations! "But you said in your heart, 'I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God, And I will sit on the mount of assembly In the recesses of the north. 'I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.'
"Nevertheless you will be thrust down to Sheol, To the recesses of the pit.’’

It all started with adultery scandal which erupted only after some women revealed the affairs to other area pastors, who made information public and initiated investigation.

Mr Adelaja, who earlier repeatedly denied being involved in sexual relationship with parishioners, was unfrocked and removed from leadership of the church, preaching, and counseling, according to the Russian Union of Christians of Evangelical Faith (ROSHVE).

The decision was taken after the US settled Apostle Tuff Ulissis, who performed spiritual care for Sunday Adelaja for several years, sent a letter to all the leaders in the “Embassy” that shed light on the gravity of the situation.

During the meeting with pastor Adelaja and his wife, pastor Bose Adelaja, Mr Ulissis found out that Adelaja confessed to having affairs with at least 20-30 women both single and married (and probably even more as he could't tell the precise number of victims) and repented of his sins but did it in perfunctory manner.

The clergyman also talked to women, both married and single, who told him about Adelaja systematically using various manipulation techniques, flattering words, and his own position to force them into sexual encounters.

In a letter Apostle Tuff Ulissis wrote: "All the stories were equally horrific, disgusting and depressing. People are very sorry about the current situation with the pastor and wanted him to have psychiatric help.

I made it clear that my aim is not to destroy either the Embassy of God, because many people have found help in the church or Pastor Sunday as a person. I wanted to make sure that everything has been done to these women and the couples have received care, reconciliation and redeeming restoration."

Interestingly, Adelaja's confession came one month after he shared a video on his blog titled “Sexual Sin Is Not Enough to Take You to Hell.” (now deleted) What is even more surprising is that the church has not issued a public statement regarding the case as an inside matter.

Meanwhile, Adelaja’s Facebook and blog are still active. By the way, he was also accused of being involved in fraud and the dealings of King’s Capital, a financial group led by a former member of his congregation. Adelaja is reportedly planning to move from Ukraine to Nigeria for some time.

However, after facing all these struggles which is the devil’s handwork, instead of asking for forgiveness and repenting, he went ahead and started attacking real men of God, looking for ways to drag them to the mud he is. Could it be depression or frustration?

The first Man Of God he criticised was the General Overseer Of The Redeemed Christian Church Of God, Pastor E.A Adeboye, he pointed out a mistake in his teaching and called him a lair

In a video published to YouTube, Adelaja replays a video of Adeboye lecturing on the subject ‘Sacrifice Overturns Wrath’ in which he quotes Psalm 41:1-3, using the Scriptural reference to encourage attendees to financially partner with his ministry.

“If you are a giver, when you are sick, God will visit you”, Adeboye is seen stating in the video, while reading out from the bible.

But Adelaja pointed out that Psalm 41 actually states, “Blessed is he who considers the poor; the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble”.

He explained that the context refers to giving to the less privileged, not to a church or pastor. The founder of Embassy of God described Adeboye’s interpretation as a “broad daylight lie. He is twisting the Bible just for people to give to him’’

Few days after Pastor Sunday Adelaja, the General Overseer of the Kiev, Ukraine-based Embassy of the Blessed Kingdom of God for All Nations, attacked Dr. Paul Enenche, the founder of Dunamis International Gospel Center. He accused him of using magic and rituals to perform miracles without any cogent proof, the church however replied him and asked him to face the many scandals hanging on his neck.

He also attacked The Founder Of Believers’ world AKA Christ Embassy, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, The Founder Of The Synagogue Church Of All Nations, Prophet TB Joshua and accused them of faking miracles.

This kind of person should be likened to Satan who was sent away from the midst of angels in heaven and started tormenting the children of God and even at that, Satan’s sins wasn’t as much as this before he was sent off. Hence, Sunday Adelaja should be seen as the Devil’s master.

YDP Rep Candidate, Macjob kicks Off Campaign, Seek People's Support

Saheed Adeola

Ahead of 2019 general elections, a candidate for House of Representatives from Abeokuta South Federal Constituency, Ogun State, Otunba Gbolahan Macjob on Monday urged the people of Abeokuta South to resist the temptation of cash for votes.

Macjob, who is contesting under Young Democratic Party, (YDP) noted that, it is high time people with genuine desire to serve come into politics to right the wrongs of the past at all level of governance.

He therefore, urged the people of Abeokuta South to support him for good governance, promising to do right by the people and to bring real change to Abeokuta.

Investigators Uncover Hidden Treasures In Akwa Ibom

Investigators Uncover Hidden Treasures In Akwa Ibom

Dr. Clement Obadimu is a living testimony of ‘grass to grace’ analogy. As a ‘Life Coach’, he never shy away from acts of charity and helping others fulfilling their destinies. In a special investigative mission to Niger Delta, the Nigerian Guild of Investigative Journalists, NGIJ discovers a rare Nigerian who is about to make history by publishing ten books in a day. This feat, according to findings is unprecedented and therefore wets the curiosity of investigators who despite the season of torrential rainfall traced the Ogun state born resident of Akwa Ibom to far away Eket, one of the major towns in the state.

“I truly authored ten books; all deal with how best to live a meaningful life and practical illustrations from our immediate and remote environments. And it’s also true that I’m unveiling all the ten books on a single day. As a matter of fact the ten books will soon be unveiled in a couple of weeks” Clement Olusegun Obadimu, a volunteered lecturer pro bono confirmed to four members of The Guild led by ‘Wale Abideen President and Managing editor of SECURITY MONITOR (www.securitymonitorng.com) Solanke Ayomideji Taiwo, Secretary and Editor-in-Chief of AMEBO, (www.amebo9jafeed.com.ng) Adeyemi Obadimu, Assistance Publicity Secretary and Publisher of News Extra(www.newsextra.com) andOsho Oluwatosin, Welfare Officer and C.E.O of Trixx TV  in his humble bungalow apartment located in Eket, Akwa Ibom State.

Dr. Clem, as the certified Life Coach is fondly called by his admirers sheds more lights on the books and how to get them, “I have actually authored two books in the past. But in the series of my new books are, Beyond The Roots and this talks about overcoming a foundational challenge, failure syndrome and embracing the simplicity of success. Here I chronicled my life experiences and some of my numerous mentors around the globe”.

“Beyond The Roots is the first in the series of four books I tagged: ‘From being successful to being significant’. The books acknowledge that an individual whether influenced by his genetic background or conditioned by his environment can still experience liberation through self-determination, self-discipline and the essence of the power of God”

NGIJ engagement with a man who practices what he showcased in his speeches, lectures, public presentations and perhaps in the new 10 books could be very educative and didactic as Dr. Obadimu’s guests and teeming crops of youths he mentors on daily basis interrupted The Guild’s chat with Dr. Obadimu as the marriage counselor whose attention is sought both in the religion and secular circle speaks further. “One of my books, titled: The Reality explains that success is not the destination but touching lives positively is. I also publish The Route which reveals the 12 Dees of achieving realities of one’s dreams”.

Dr. Clement Obadimu said one of the books he is about to launch is The Rise which details the 12 Ps of personality and business growth and the need for success sustenance. This book according to The Guild’s findings always equips, enrich and cause a paradigm shift in the approach of the readers. Emmanuel Udoikpa, Chairman of the Society for Moral and Ethical Rehabilitation opines that the contents in Clement Obadimu’s series of books, ‘From being Successful to being significant’ “shortened the distance and days between individual and where he or she desires to be in life. The principles explained in the books are like quick references which help to eliminate unnecessary negatives and backwards pains travellers of life encounter on way to their Eldorado”.

Clement is not an extra ordinary man but an ordinary Nigerian doing an ordinary thing in an extra ordinary manner and so while showcasing the book ‘Only God Can Do This’ to members of The Guild, the author displays a skill commonly found among men of God and Christian priests. With a mood that suggests its importance, Dr. Clem explains that the book, “Only God Can Do This’ is a collections of true life experiences of ordinary men and women who had experienced extra ordinary lifting at the merciful hands of supernatural God”. He added that the book is sequel to ‘Only God Can Do This’ Vol 1.

A devout Christian and the District Men’s President of his church, Dr Obadimu noted that “from near death experiences deliverance to awesome financial blessings; from ‘mind boggling’ to ‘eye popping’ encounters- at the end you cannot but agree that only God and God alone can make things possible and with God all things are truly possible”.

An Inspiratory tutor to many students of the Akwa Ibom State University and University of Uyo, Dr. Clem’s book titled; Study Smart  is a cynosure to the eyes of young ones who like to form the habits of highly successful students as the book exposed readers to over 100 secret strategies for studying effectively. The book teaches students how not to cheat but pass examinations with modern and result oriented reading styles.

Dr. Obadimu’s ‘Why Businesses Fail’ is a true life experiences from his involvement in business world. Obadimu did not only explain why businesses fail in this book but also proffers antidote to business failures and financial sustenance. He gave reasons why his own private businesses fail and the strategies he applied to lift them up.

Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Ph.D, GCFR former President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, after reading some of the books decided to write the ‘forward’ to one of them titled: Now That You Are A Graduate

Obasanjo in his forward to the book which aptly captures the interest of fresh graduate regretted that “unfortunately, too many graduates of our tertiary institutions today depend on the government and other institutions for blue and white collar jobs to eke out a survival for themselves. This is both the fault of our education and the attitude of our educated” The former President who recently bagged his Ph.D added that “our world needs not only those who are educated but mostly those who are ready to transform the educational initiatives, handwork, drive and creativity into development, growth and progress. If you fall into any of these classes of people for development, then indeed this book is for you”.

Ochagu Kaka, Ph.D., a lecturer in College of Technology, Calabar while endorsing Study Smart says “Written in prose that at times reads like poetry, the book itself is a fitting reflection of the joys of studying. Its language is simple without being pedantic, insightful without being obtuse, inspiring and encouraging. It inspires the readers to great academic heights, heights that can be achieved without cutting corners…”

Emmanuel Etuk is the President of the Psalmists Mission in Nigeria who had read some of the books authored by Dr. Obadimu and hailed Beyond The Roots as thus “For the first time in human history, a book has emerged that marries Godly and rational, theological and philosophical principles to solve the problem of human development.

The ten books are undoubtedly hidden treasures to those who could not read them. Nigerian Guild of Investigative journalists as well as union of online journalists has set up a team to attend the launching of the books in Uyo, the capital city of oil rich Akwa Ibom state, Nigeria. The book unveiling committee also hint of an elaborate Book Launching ceremony and added that Dr. Clem’s 10 Books will be available in both e-format and hard copy. “The E- format could be accessed through amazon.com while the hard copies will hit bookshops nationwide immediately after the launching.

The erudite author, certified life coach and ‘destiny helper’ is a role model to many young successful Nigerians who field questions from investigators and affirmed the intellectual and charity prowess of Dr. Clement Olusegun Obadimu.

Obadimu bagged a Ph.D. in Analytical (Environmental) Chemistry from the University of Calabar and he is happily married, with lovely children to Esther Olushola Obadimu.
