Ogun 2019: ADP GUBER Candidate Pledges Good Governance

Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon. Dimeji Bankole yesterday publicly declared his intention to contest the 2019 Governorship election with a pledge that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) should prepare for a shock.

He assured his party, Action Democratic Party (ADP) supporters that the ADC had prepared enough to take over power in the State.

At a colourful ceremony at the ADC  Secretariat, Abeokuta during which Bankole was unveiled as the Governorship candidate, the former speaker pledged to tackle the complexity of the State economy with all the seriously it deserves.

He assured  "If the good people of Ogun State give me the mandate, I will perform beyond their expectation."

"I am grateful to this massive structure you have built in ADP and I will not in any capacity play with the ticket you have given me.", he told his cheering supporters.

Bankole hinted that the people of Ogun State will benefit from his government, saying that the party he's contesting under is united, credible and people of Ogun State should join hands together to support his ambition.

Describing the ADP as a united and credible party, Bankole stated "With all confidence, with the work we have done, we are dependent on God and the work that we are doing at the grassroots, we will continue to tackle the complexity of the economic structure and the mass unemployment in the state if elected."

Earlier in his speech, the party's state chairman, Chief Wale Egunleti recalled some of Bankole's achievements while serving as the speaker, adding that his competency would turn the state positively.

He stressed "We are all witnesses to how Rt. Hon. Dimeji Bankole, despite his young age, competently presided over the affairs of the House. He took over the reins of leadership at a period when the House was enmeshed in turmoil and he  not only stabilised the House, also completed his term, something which, at that time, was an unprecedented feat".

According to the Chairman, "His contributions to infrastructural development within Ogun State are also there to see."
